Find the Best Ideas for Christmas Gifts
Christmas is truly a wonderful time of the year! It is a time where xmas gifts are exchanged and family memories are made.
It is also the time for Christmas shopping, and cooking the ham, and baking the pies, and going to the parties, and attending the school functions, and decorating the home and on and on and on. And this is all over and above your normal, every day schedule.
So since I can't cook for you, or go to the parties for you, or decorate your house for you, and you probably wouldn't want me to cook for you…
Here are a few tips to help make your holidays happy, as well as some of my best Christmas gift ideas for those special people on your list…
Tip #1. Do What You Really Want To Do
This season comes and goes too quickly, so make sure you enjoy it. It does not matter if your neighbor has the bigger light display outside. If you would rather spend the day baking cookies, then put your time there and do not worry about the outdoor lights.
Tip #2. Plan a 'down' day or evening in the midst of the activities
Taking time to breathe makes you more relaxed to enjoy the holidays. Leave holiday functions when you are ready. There is not a 'rule' that states you must stay so long (well, unless it is your in-laws. They have "special" unwritten rules that took me years to figure out.)
My rule of thumb for most parties is this: Go home before you are too pooped to party. Enjoy it, but don't over do it. Contrary to some beliefs, exhaustion from Christmas partying is not a good thing.
Tip #3. Simplify your Christmas shopping.
Make a list of who you want to buy for. Then avoid the headaches and long lines by shopping online. With today's technology, shopping has never been easier. A few minutes and a few clicks, and you can have the best and most thoughtful Christmas gifts brought right to your doorstep.
To help get you started right, I've given you some of my best ideas on the left side of this page. Once your are finished shopping online, then go to the mall, grab a hot chocolate and Aunt Annie's pretzel, and just sit, relax and enjoy the season.
Your time is one of your most valuable assets. During this truly special season, enjoy it with your loved ones.
Merry Christmas!
